Who We Are

The Mongolia Korea Cultural Engagement Initiative is a project aimed at building strong cultural ties between Mongolia and the DPR Korea through exchanges, cooperative projects, and other ventures.

The MKCEI is a focal point for bringing together Korean organisations, and linking them with Mongolian counterparts with the shared goal of developing closer civil and cultural relations. The core of MKCEI is Benjamin Weston FRGS, managing director of the organisation, working alongside his Korean counterpart who operates as the ground manager for projects in Pyongyang.

Our mission is to build on the already strong ties between Mongolia and Korea through their shared history, culture and traditions; working to educate and engage people from both countries to usher in a new era of friendship and understanding between the Korean and Mongolian people

We partner with a number of Korean organisations in the fields of education, culture, disability rehabiliation, and more. We’re also partnered with Absolute Nomads, a Mongolian-registered travel company to facilitate visits by Korean groups to Mongolia

Our goal is to operate exchange projects and collaborative events between Mongolia and Korea to facilitate closer diplomatic relations between the countries, and educate the populations on the other country’s traditions, culture, and history.
